Doren Damico is an artist, musician, educator and freelance writer based in Los Angeles, California.
A life-long lover of music, Doren earned her BA in Music with a jazz emphasis from Sonoma State University in 1995. In addition, she holds both general and education specialist credentials from California State University Northridge, and has worked for over 26 years as an educator and consultant.
Doren often writes articles on education and parenting. Her blog, Many Windows, One Doren, also includes her perspective on topics such as music, poetry and sci-fi.
Current projects include: Illustrating a children’s book. Finishing book one of a speculative fiction series involving time travel. Contributing to her first soundtrack for a short film.
Doren’s first book, When You Can’t Scream… Or 10 Reasons Why I Smoke, includes poetry, photographs of women, and an intimate narrative that explores the complex journey of trauma, acceptance and healing. Learn More
